RTW 2005 Dior Homme Black Cotton Jacket - Size 34/44R
RTW 2005 Dior Homme Black Cotton Jacket - Size 34/44R

Description

Dior is synonymous with French couture since 1946. Created by Christian Dior, it quickly became eponymous with luxury, elegance and classic French sophistication, thanks to its "New Look" in women's Haute Couture. It was the home of countless legendary designers, notably Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, and Gianfranco Ferré. Marc Bohan was the first designer to create a ready-to-wear line for Dior in menswear, in 1970. Named Christian Dior Monsieur, it was an instant success and was endorsed by celebrities such as Jean-Louis Trintignant. Made in Italy, the quality was good, but lacked an identity and its own aesthetic. In 2001, Christian Dior Monsieur changed his name for Dior Homme, with Hedi Slimane as its creative director. Dior Homme defined the silhouette of menswear for the decade: a minimalist approach, a structured shoulder, a reminder of 1960's cut, a very slim silhouette, and a dark palette of black, navy blue and charcoal grey. Hedi Slimane also introduced the idea of a runway music artist: a singer or band that will epitomise the collection, creating a blend between culture and fashion. While some may criticise the direction taken by men's fashion because of the slim cut introduced by Dior and Hedi Slimane, no one can deny the quality of the construction, the precision of the cut, and of course its lasting impact on menswear for more than a decade. I propose a classic and a symbol of Dior Homme during the Hedi Slimane era: a black jacket in cotton, with a slight shine to the fabric. Made by Caruso (an italian sartoria responsible for the ready-to-wear line of many famous houses like Francesco Smalto, Cifonelli, or Ralph Lauren), this jacket is the definition of an era: slim cut, peak lapels, excellent fabric and construction. It belongs to the 2005 Spring-Summer collection, simply called "(Untitled)". Beck was the runway artist, and it was the height of Dior's influence on the world of men's fashion. Contrary to popular belief, you can wear a black jacket. You can pair it similarly to a navy blazer, with chinos, linen or wool trousers, in shades of blue, brown, grey, or white. You can even try other colours like green or even pastels, as long as the fabric is of good quality. This jacket is perfect for a size 34 UK or 44 EU, for someone between 1m75 and 1m80. Here are the measurements: Shoulders: 39,5cm Sleeve length: 65cm (with 4cm of fabric to let out) Chest: 44,5cm Waist at button: 42cm Jacket length: 78cm (collar included, with 2cm of fabric to let out) Lapels: 9cm The quality is equivalent to Belvest, Boglioli, Brioni, Canali, Cifonelli (RTW), Corneliani, Francesco Smalto (RTW), Gucci, Hermès, Pal Zileri, Paul Stuart, Ralph Lauren, Ravazzolo, Ring Jacket, Valentino, Ermenegildo Zegna Possible to try it in Paris 15th Arrondissement
