Daniel Porretta was an old-school Parisian tailor and a disciple of Paul Portes. Paul Portes was one of the oldest modern Parisian tailor in activity, dating back to the early 1920's. A member of the "groupement des grands tailleurs de Paris" (association of the great tailors of Paris), Paul Portes was established 194 Rue de Rivoli and incarnated the style of Parisian tailors before Joseph Camps arrived in the late 1950's. The style of Portes and therefore Porretta is strictly english and typical of the 1950's style. Very structured shoulder, drape cut, low gorge, closed quarters, double-pleated trousers with a straight cut. However, Parisian tailors propose a lot more handwork and details than their english counterparts, notably on the buttonholes, the shape of the collar, and a more generous sleevehead. I'm proposing a stunning cream linen suit made by Daniel Porretta in the late 70's. It is the perfect suit for spring and summer, on sunny days. It can also be used for weddings. The suit was created for Jacques Wolfsohn, who was a music producer from the 1960's to the 1990's. He notably launched the career of Johnny Hallyday, Françoise Hardy and Jacques Dutronc when he was artistic director for Disques Vogue in the early 1960's. The conditions is excellent. The suit is best fitted for someone with a 38UK / 48FR size, around 1m75 tall. Here are the measurements Shoulders: 44cm Sleeve length: 58cm (with 4cm of fabric to let out) Chest: 51cm Waist at button: 48cm Jacket length: 72cm (collar included, with 5cm of fabric to let out) Lapels: 8,5cm Waist for trousers: 41cm (with 7cm of fabric to let out) Length from inseam: 70cm Length total: 96cm (with 5cm of fabric to let out) Legs width: 22cm (with 5cm of fabric to widen it) Trouser Cuffs: 3cm Quality similar to the following bespoke houses: - In France: Camps de Luca, Cifonelli, Francesco Smalto, Claude Rousseau, Arnys, Lanvin Mesure, Henri Urban, Max Evzeline, Opelka, Kenjiro Suzuki - In Italy: Caraceni (Augusto or Domenico), Rubinacci, Dalcuore, Panico - In England: Anderson & Sheppard, Henry Poole, Huntsman & Sons, Nutters of Savile Row, Chittleborough & Morgan, Richard Anderson, Meyer & Mortimer.
