Arthur & Fox is one of most revered Ready To Wear brand in Paris. Its founder, Michel Barnes (known in the eighties as the Most Elegant Man in Paris), created a unique atmosphere by introducing the first neapolitan cut (soft shoulder, almost no padding, bold patterns) in France. Mr Barnes was also famous for his knowledge of fabric (origin, weight, quality) and how to cut a suit, learning from his own experience (his suits were made by Caraceni and Anderson & Sheppard) and by visiting thrift shops.
Arthur & Fox is still one of the best kept secret in Paris. The brand doesn't have a website, but several shops from the 16th Arrondissement (Rue de la Pompe) to the 7th Arrondissement (Rue du Bac). Some of its clients includes Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones, former US President Bill Clinton, former King of Spain Juan Carlos, Philippe Noiret, and many more.
All the suits and jackets are made by Boglioli, a reference for very light construction and excellent quality.
The jacket I'm proposing is a beautiful navy blue windowpane sportcoat in flannel. It is a very light flannel, fully canvassed, that you can wear from autumn to spring with ease. It pairs well with a tattersall shirt or a button down blue oxford shirt, a colourful chino or corduroy, and a knitted tie. The shoulder is very soft and you will feel like you're in Italy.
The size is a 38R (for someone around 1m75).
