Emilio De Luca is a Neapolitan sartoria founded in the 1940’s. Emilio was born in Casalnuovo​,​ a few kilometers away from Naples. Casalnuovo is known as the city of fashion​,​ due to its textile tradition. Many tailors and high-end suitmakers came from Casalnuovo​,​ such as Cesare Attolini​,​ Antonio Panico (one of the most talented cutters of his generation​,​ especially during his years at Rubinacci)​,​ Pirozzi​,​ Caliendo​,​ Sabino​,​ and Isaia. De Luca’s style is typically Neapolitan. The shoulder is unstructured (the famous "spalla camicia" or shirt jacket)​,​ the construction is feather-light​,​ the lapels are wide​,​ and the breast pocket features the characteristic barchetta (a breast pocket in the shape of a small boat)​,​ a staple of Naples tailoring tradition. This sartoria uses only the best fabric​,​ with a liking for Loro Piana and Holland & Sherry. Holland & Sherry is known worldwide since 1836 for the quality of its luxurious fabrics​,​ especially its cashmere.
